“Virtual Particles” Only Exist Sometimes
I have to be honest here. I have no idea what any of this actually means, but it sounds pretty amazing. Particles that appear and disappear…is it teleportation? Invisiblity?
The quantum effect known as vacuum birefringence was predicted in the 1930s, but this is the first observational evidence of the phenomenon in action.
